Our Cert Structure: Everyone who enters SYATT touches three phases of learning:

Whether you join through skiing, swimming, biking, or diving, you’ll be grounded in:

• Cultural history + land-based wisdom
• Environmental literacy 
• Critical thinking + systems awareness
• Outdoor safety
• Community leadership + public voice

We teach how the outdoors connects to identity, health, power, and possibility.

Through real-world participation, youth and families can specific certs across these learning tracks:

• Syatt Bikes offers Smart Cycling, Night Riding, and League of American Bicyclists (League Certified Instructor) training, as well as trail design and maintenance, covering both road and mountain biking pathways.
• Syatt Dives includes Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, Instructor training, you’ll get certified diving, layered with environmental awareness and leadership training (Archeology/Coral Reef Restoration/Coastal Resource Management)
• Syatt Explores offers culture, Camping, Hiking, and Paddling, providing experiential learning through nature, tradition, and wellness practices.
• Syatt Skis Winter Preparedness + progress from never-ever to black diamond skier, with options for racing and freestyle exposure.
• Syatt Soccer emphasizes Movement + Peer Mentorship, a community-centered soccer program focused on skill-building, cultural exchange, and joyful play.
• Syatt Stewards Blue-Green Workforce Development, environmental monitoring, restoration, energy, and advocacy for soil, air, and water justice.
• Syatt Swims builds Water Safety, Lifeguard, WSI Instructor, and Open-Water Lifesaving certifications, preparing youth for employment in aquatic safety, instruction, and rescue careers.
• Syatt Travels Passport Readiness + Trip Planning + Cultural Exchange prepares youth to explore the world and build global perspectives.

Each cert builds from the Foundations. Many also align with national certifications, but all reflect our values.

Legacy Certs

Syatt participants who return to lead earn special recognition:

• Syatt Legacy Leader (for youth and alumni leading peers)
• Steward Cert (for leading events, mentoring, or facilitation)
• Community Educator (for youth who teach, organize, or design with us)
